Description

Galaxies of an apparent diameter of 1 arc-minute or less are tough targets.  Sometimes I image them hoping to finding something unique or special.  This one turned out to be neither, but I still found it interesting.

This Astrobin Debut Object is a spiral galaxy located 430 million light years away in the constellation of Draco at a declination of +54 degrees.  It is a magnitude 15 galaxy which spans 1 arc-minute in our apparent view.  This corresponds to a large diameter of 140,000 light years.  From our view perspective, the disk is inclined about 20 degrees from edge-on.

Slightly below this object is a small yellow object which looks like a small elliptical.  This could be a companion to NGC 6358.  My eyes see a short bridge connecting these 2 galaxies, extending up and right from the small galaxy. I could find no data on the small galaxy to confirm the distance.
